Game Pass Core جایگزین سرویس آشنای Xbox Live Gold خواهد شد، اگرچه قیمت ها بدون تغییر باقی می مانند. این سرویس به بازیکنان همان ویژگی‌های Live Gold را با بازی‌های چندنفره، معاملات و تخفیف‌های انحصاری و دسترسی به Free Play Days برای بازی‌های کاملاً ویژه ارائه می‌دهد. ایکس باکس همچنین گفته است که کتابخانه Game Pass Core 2 تا 3 بار در سال به روز می شود.
